The Los Angeles Rams, the NFL and the defendants in the team's relocation lawsuit have come to a settlement. According to an article from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, lawyers came to a $790 million settlement.

According to Sports Illustrated, Rams owner Stan Kroenke originally paid a $550 million fee to move the team from St. Louis to Los Angeles back in 2016. Kroenke got approval from 30 of 32 NFL owners to move the team out west to California.

St. Louis, St. Louis County, and St. Louis Regional Sports Authority will receive the settlement money. St. Louis Regional Sports Authority is the public entity that owns The Dome at America's Center, which was the home stadium for the St. Louis Rams.

It is not clear how much of the $790 million the National Football League will be responsible for and how much Rams owner Kroenke will have to pay. This agreement voids the trial, which was set to begin in January of 2022.

The Rams are going through a rough patch right now with a current two game losing streak. Needless to say, Kroenke doesn't need any legal business distracting him. The team began the season with a 7-1 record up until their Week 9 loss to the Titans.

To make things worse, they have challenging games to end the season. They face the 49ers and the Cardinals again after taking losses to both teams earlier in the season. The Rams will also visit Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and host Russell Wilson, two star quarterbacks when healthy. LA is currently second in the NFC West behind Arizona.
