Jared Goff has been the uncontested starting quarterback in the Los Angeles Rams since halfway through his rookie year in 2016. Since entering the league, the 26-year-old has been the team's main guy in four playoff games for the Rams. This changed last Saturday when Goff found himself as the Rams' QB2 in their Wild Card match-up against the Seattle Seahawks while still recouping from thumb surgery last December 28.

Goff ended up coming into the game anyway, to replace the starting John Wolford early in the game after Wolford had to leave the game with a neck injury. The two-time Pro Bowler played 58 of 73 offensive snaps during the game and eventually helped the Rams eliminate their division rivals to move to the next round of the playoffs.

For Goff, he admits that head coach Sean McVay's decision to put him as a backup last Saturday wasn't one he agreed with. But at the end of the day, they got the W and that, and that was all that really mattered.

“We are able to disagree,” the Rams' QB said Thursday (via NBC Sports). “We’re two grown men who disagreed on the status of my thumb. It’s not the end of the world. I think I was able to come in there and help us get the win and that is most important to me. It’s something that we talked about last week, and he had to plan accordingly. He’s the head coach. He has to make tough decisions like that. At the end of the day, it was last week, and we’ve moved on.”

Goff, who's still not at 100%, will be back to familiar territory as he's set to make his fifth playoff start of his career on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers. The Rams would need all of Goff coming into the Divisional Round if they want their playoff hopes to stay alive.
