The Rams have been relatively quiet this offseason, but that could change if (when) they decide to start extending the multitude of players that will be in line for new contracts. Jared Goff, Marcus Peters, and Greg Zuerlein are among the first that come to mind.

Sean McVay will likely get a raise soon, too. At least, that's what many have speculated. According to Rams COO Kevin Demoff, though, he will have to wait.

Demoff told Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times that the Rams are focused on “making sure the players we need to extend are done” before looking at McVay, who’s under contract through 2022.

“As you go to make sure that your [core] players are here for a long time, obviously the goal is to make sure your coaching staff is here a long time. … Our goal is always to make sure this group can stay together for as long as possible.”

McVay has exceeded all expectations since the Rams made him the NFL's youngest coach, at the age of 30, before the 2017 season.

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll  signed an extension in December that will pay him about $11 million per year, according to reports. Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden reportedly earns $10 million, and New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton $9 million, according to reports. All have won Super Bowls. They're the elite class of coaches, as far as earnings go.

McVay isn't in that class. At least not yet.

But he's close.

If he continues to lead the Rams to success, McVay will get his money in due time. There's no question about that.
