The Los Angeles Rams were declared one of the biggest winners of the NFL offseason when they managed to add not one, but two Pro Bowl-caliber cornerbacks in Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters. It appears Peters is already looking ahead toward the benefits of playing alongside a player like Talib.

His prowess for picking off quarterbacks has led offenses to stray away from him over the past couple of years. However, according to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry, he feels they will have to throw his way with Talib in the mix.

“I get to get some more targets this year ’cause now I got a person who is on the same playing level as me,” Peters said. “Not saying nothing against who I played [with] in the past; just saying that I got another defensive back who is highly rated … that quarterbacks got that much respect for him too. So you got to pick and choose your battles now.”

Opposing offenses will not have very many options when it comes to facing the Rams' defense. Peters has established himself as one of the NFL's premier playmakers. His 19 career interceptions are more than anyone else in the league since he arrived in 2015 and has also been selected to two Pro Bowls during that span.

Meanwhile, the veteran Talib has garnered massive respect around the league with his 34 career interceptions and status as a former Super Bowl champ. This could be why the two hit it off immediately upon arriving in Los Angeles.

There is no doubt that the pair will benefit greatly playing opposite of each other. However, it is safe to assume that it will be amplified by the rest of this Rams' defense. They managed to beef up their defensive line with the addition of Ndamukong Suh while making sure to retain safety Lamarcus Joyner and cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman. That said, Peters and Talib should flourish with their aggressive playing style.
