Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay hasn't liked to discuss Todd Gurley's knee much this offseason, but the past week he has been a little more open about his running back.

McVay said via an email sent out by the team that Gurley is exactly where they hoped he would be heading into Week 1 of the season.

“Yeah, he is. This is the plan we had set out. I think Todd (Gurley II) would tell you, he’s feeling good, He’s ready to go.”

Those echo the same thoughts from earlier this week when McVay said Gurley was feeling good, but the team was also excited about the backups and they should see playing time too.

Via Cameron DaSilva in USA Today Sports' Rams Wire:

“Todd Gurley is feeling good, he’s our starting back. He’s been one of the best all-purpose backs, based on his production and what he’s done for us over the last couple of years,” McVay said. “We’ve got two guys in Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson Jr. that we feel really confident about, being able to spell him. But what we do as far as activating different personnel groups and things like that – those are things that we will see on Sunday.”

Gurley struggled last season with a knee injury, and it's something that he will have to try and contain for the rest of his career.

The good news is the team trusts Brown and Henderson and they have both looked like guys who can be trusted if called upon for big roles this season.
