One of the more touched upon aspects of the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors battle in the NBA Finals was how Drake affected things. As a diehard Raptors fan and a friend of many of the Warriors players, Drake spent most of the series trash talking his friends in Golden State. After the Raptors pulled off the championship victory, though, it was all love between Stephen Curry and the rap superstar.

In a video captured by CloseUp360 (via USA Today), Curry can be seen talking with Drake via FaceTime after the Finals had ended. On his way out of Oracle Arena, Curry congratulated Drake on the teams victory, noting that he knows how much it means to not only him, but to the city of Toronto as well.

In the clip, Curry also notes how hard it was to lose the series, giving a frustrated yell for a moment only to joke back with the rapper. To Drake’s credit, he congratulates Curry for the season, telling him to keep up with Kevin Durant during his recovery from a ruptured achilles and also relaying the message of love and friendship to Curry and his family.

Despite the contentious atmosphere of the NBA Finals, it was nice to see that the two could get along immediately after. Not only does it go to show just how close they are outside of basketball, but that once the final buzzer sounds, everyone can be friendly.
