Pascal Siakam made his 2021-22 season debut for the Toronto Raptors on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets, and his teammate Fred VanVleet couldn't be any happier.

FVV also sent a stern message to Siakam's doubters after the Cameroonian played well in his return from shoulder injury and eventual surgery. The 27-year-old recorded 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out one assist in 25 minutes of play.

“I think it's just a reminder for the idiots on Twitter, who have got to beat him for the past two years,” VanVleet said of Siakam's performance, per Doug Smith of The Star.

Pascal Siakam was expected to struggle in his first game back after missing the Raptors' first 10 games. However, he instead showed everyone the reason why he has been pegged as the next Toronto superstar.

As he plays more with his teammates and gets acclimated with the new guys like Scottie Barnes and Dalano Banton, Siakam should be able to increase his production.

The past two seasons have been rather up-and-down for Siakam. While he averaged 20-plus points in each campaign, it was marred with inconsistency. There were even reports he's unhappy with the team, which was further highlighted by his heated argument with head coach Nick Nurse at one point last season.

By the looks of it, Siakam is ready to contribute to the Raptors and lead them back to the playoffs. Clearly, Fred VanVleet is excited for Siakam and what they can achieve with him.
