The Toronto Raptors suffered another defeat on Tuesday, as they fell to the Brooklyn Nets, 116-103. Fred VanVleet had a forgettable evening against the Nets and in his post-game interview, the 6-foot-1 point guard did not hold back with his comments.

It seems like VanVleet was feeling a bit under the weather entering Tuesday night's tilt and he made the admission after the loss (h/t William Lou of Yahoo Sports):

VanVleet, who has been dealing with a myriad of injuries over the course of the season, went 4-of-17 from the field against the Nets including 3-of-12 from distance. He finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists in what can be considered as a rough night for the 27-year-old. It did not sound like Fred was making excuses for his poor play, and he did say that he just “wasn't good enough.”

It was the same case for Pascal Siakam, who himself also had a horrendous shooting night. The former All-Star went just 2-of-16 from the floor and 0-of-5 from trey for 10 points, seven rebounds, and a couple of assists.

Tuesday's loss served as another significant blow for the Raptors' playoff hopes this season. They are now four and a half games behind the eighth-seeded Charlotte Hornets in the Eastern Conference. Mathematically they still have a shot at a postseason berth, but it's going to be a tough, tough road ahead for the 2019 champs. Poor performances such as this from VanVleet, Siakam, and the rest of the team just won't cut it.

Is it now time for Raptors fans to officially wave the white flag on this season?
