Kyle Lowry had a tremendous performance on Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers, as the veteran point guard led his team to an impressive 107-92 victory. Lowry was so outstanding that he was praised as the “best leader” the Raptors has ever had – by none other than NBA legend Isiah Thomas.

Thomas, himself one of the greatest point guards and on-court generals of all time, took to Twitter to send some high praise towards Lowry's direction:

We can't say he's wrong here. Lowry's showing on Saturday is testament to Thomas' statement. The 34-year-old finished with a game-high 33 points on 8-of-16 shooting, along with five triples, 14 rebounds (!), six assists, and a steal in 35 minutes of action. If there was any doubt about Lowry's form following a four-month hiatus, then this performance should quell any and all question marks.

It was a close encounter up until the final few minutes of the fourth quarter. However, Lowry came up big on both ends, draining a couple of 3-pointers to provide some separation for his team. The six-time All-Star had one of, if not his best performance of the entire season, and as usual, has been leading his team through example.

Toronto's win brings them to within six games behind the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference. The league-leading Bucks could have actually secured the top seed with a Raptors loss on Saturday, and the same was the case for the Lakers in the West. Kyle Lowry and company had other plans, though, and he made sure to hit two birds with one stone with their impressive victory.
