The Toronto Raptors are one of three organizations that are being investigated by the NBA for possible tampering involving the Kyle Lowry sign and trade that sent him to the Miami Heat. It's unknown what will ultimately end up happening, but Raptors President Masai Ujiri has finally spoken out on the situation.

Via TSN's Josh Lewenberg:

Some major shade was thrown by Ujiri there. He does have a valid point, though. As soon as Free Agency opened up, the deals for Lonzo Ball heading to the Chicago Bulls and Lowry going to South Beach were literally done right after the clock passed 6 PM. The Raptors acquired Precious Achiuwa and Goran Dragic in return for the veteran guard, but it's unknown at this point if the latter will be a part of the team after some questionable comments a couple of weeks back.

Clearly, Ujiri has nothing to hide if he openly gave his phone away for the investigation. If anything, Miami was the ones pushing to get the Lowry deal over the line, not Toronto.

Nevertheless, both teams could still face repercussions from the NBA if tampering was in fact done. If that happened, the Raptors and Heat could be given fines, lose draft picks, or front office figures could even get fired.
