The 2019 NBA Champion Toronto Raptors received the league’s first-ever NBA Team of the Year Award. The Raptors were recognized for their achievements across team business, including Ticketing, Partnerships, Marketing, Digital Media, Business Analytics and Innovation.

The Raptors were among the leaders in several fields last season. According to the NBA's official report, the team was near the top of the league for ticket member renewals, total tickets sold and full season tickets sold.

Toronto looks a bit different this season, however. The star of last year's playoffs, Kawhi Leonard, decided to join the Los Angeles Clippers in the offseason. Guard Danny Green, who also played an instrumental role in bringing a championship to Toronto, left in free agency to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. Still, the Raptors have played well in their title-defense season, as their 25-14 overall record can attest, and many experts are viewing the team as a contender. Forward Pascal Siakam is putting together an All-Star caliber season on the heels of winning Most Improved Player.

The Raptors will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'll face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tip-off inside Chesapeake Energy Arena is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Toronto has dropped three of its last five games, including Sunday's 105-104 setback against the Spurs.
