Baltimore Ravens guard Marshal Yanda has announced the end of his illustrious career. It is safe to say that his legacy in Baltimore has already been set.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Yanda will be inducted in the Ravens' Ring of Honor:

Ravens’ GM Eric DeCosta announced G Marshal Yanda will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor.

There is no question that Yanda is more than deserving of the honor. It is clear that the Ravens plan to waste no time in immortalizing his career with the franchise.

Yanda initially arrived as a third-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft out of Iowa. It was not long before he would eventually establish himself as the anchor of Baltimore's offensive line and of its biggest stabilizing factors amidst the changes it made throughout the course of his 13-year career.

During that time, Yanda was named an eight-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-Pro. More importantly, he was able to top it off with a Super Bowl ring to take with him into retirement.

Yanda's decision to retire hardly comes as any surprise. After all, he had acknowledged the possibility last offseason before deciding to stick around for the 2020 NFL season one a new one-year deal. His absence will now leave a rather notable void for Baltimore to fill along the offensive line.

Although the Ravens putting Yanda in the Ring of Honor is certainly a fitting way to acknowledge his efforts, it is only a matter of time before he is likely immortalized in Canton as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
