The Washington Redskins franchise managed to secure defensive end Chase Young with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft after he was widely considered the best player in his class. It appears that status may be reflected in the rookie ratings for Madden 21.

According to Redskins Today, Young is rumored to have the highest rating of any rookie with an 80 overall.

The prospect of Young boasting the highest rating certainly is not too far-fetched considering all the hype he generated following a spectacular career at Ohio State. His score is four points higher than Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow.

Washington has ushered in some significant changes to the franchise from top-to-bottom. Although the restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic are hardly ideal for rookies trying to get accustomed to life in the NFL, the team is banking on Young to emerge as an immediate game-changer in the pass-rushing department.

The Madden 21 ratings are scheduled to be officially revealed from July 13 through July 17. Fans are waiting in anticipation to see which players will be selected for this year's 99 Club, which will likely be once again spearheaded by Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Of course, the ratings are subject to change throughout the course of the 2020 NFL season, and players will have the opportunity to either help or hurt their cause. If Young is able to fit the billing, it is safe to say he will maintain his status as the highest-rated rookie.
