With the new name, image and likeness rules sweeping through the NCAA and allowing college athletes to get paid, the changes have brought up some old rulings as well. Most notable of the group, Reggie Bush, the former University of Southern California running back who wants his Heisman Trophy back.

Reggie Bush released a statement on the matter at hand while explaining his side yet again.

Reggie Bush notes that he and his team have reached out not only to the NCAA numerous times recently but the Heisman Trust as well. All attempts have come up empty as Bush wants his numbers in college to be reinstated and wants his Heisman Trophy back. Given the new landscape of the NCAA that started on Thursday, Bush's request shouldn't come as a surprise at all.

In 2005, Bush brought home the Heisman Trophy after a jaw-dropping season at USC. He posted 1,740 rushing yards along with 478 receiving yards. That doesn't include the 493 kick return yards or the 179 punt return yards for Reggie Bush. He had 19 total touchdowns combined during that campaign.

His awards and stats were all vacated though, as Bush was found to have accepted illegal benefits while at USC. Now, all these years later, he's still making his case to have it all returned.

The NCAA will have a lot on their plate in the coming days, weeks and months with all these changes. They lost the initial battle and now many are questioning what the point of the NCAA even is at this point. One thing for certain that will remain, Reggie Bush wants his Heisman Trophy back and he has a ton of support behind him.
