Heading into this offseason, the Chicago Bulls have many crucial decisions to make concerning their roster.

Much of this dialogue has dealt with Jimmy Butler‘s future with the franchise, as he met with the front office earlier this week. According to Carlos Douglas Jr. of the Chicago Chronicle, Butler wouldn't mind the team making a move to acquire Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks.

Anthony's status in New York has remained a prominent topic of discussion over the last few months, especially with team president Phil Jackson stating on numerous occasions that the 10-time All-Star would be best served to play elsewhere. He has two years remaining on his five-year, $124 million deal with a player option for the 2018-19 season worth $27.9 million.

Although Butler may have some interest in acquiring Anthony, he holds the final say on any deal, as he possesses a no-trade clause in his contract. It had been previously indicated that the 32-year-old has interest in joining the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, or Cleveland Cavaliers.

Anthony did experience a drop in production this past season, but he is still an elite talent. Melo averaged 22.4 points with 5.9 rebounds per game. He is also one of five players in NBA history who has averaged at least 20.0 points and played at least 40 games in each of his first 13 seasons in the league.
