Unrestricted free agent Jonathon Simmons has had no talking with the San Antonio Spurs ever since the team pulled his qualifying offer on Thursday morning, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The Spurs were reportedly still willing to negotiate with Simmons as an unrestricted free agent, but his agent, Cervando Tejada, told Charania the Spurs haven't had any negotiations with his client, as he is solely focused on signing elsewhere.

Simmons once paid $150 to try out for the Austin Toros of the D-League back in 2013, eventually striving within the system and earning a two-year, $1.4 million deal with the Spurs in 2015.

The 6-foot-6 forward is bound to command plenty of attention from other teams given his progress in an advanced offense under head coach Gregg Popovich, and an impressive collection of outings in the last two rounds of the playoffs, where he played an important role with the team.

With most of the big-name free agents signed to their respective teams, Simmons comes in as one of the biggest commodities at the small forward position — fitting right in with the scope of the modern NBA with a three-and-D mold that many franchises have adhered to.
