In the last few days, things have heated up around various trade rumors involving Indiana Pacers All-Star forward Paul George.

There appears to be another wrinkle added to the mix, as both the San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers have entered the picture for the 27-year-old's services ahead of the 2017 NBA Draft:

The addition of these two franchises further complicates things, as numerous other teams, namely the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers, have also reached out to the Pacers about acquiring George. The Spurs just recently become a player in the trade market with their shopping of former All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge because of his unhappiness with his current situation in S.A..

The Trail Blazers do possess some intriguing assets, holding the 15th, 20th, and 26th overall pick in the draft, along with a plethora of young talent on their roster. The inclusion of any combination of their first-round draft selections could put them at the forefront of landing George.

However, the potential for the All-Star forward departing in free agency next summer is a realistic scenario that may scare off teams from presenting any lucrative offer. Although George is one of the elite players in the league, his uncertain future beyond next season is a prominent part of the conversation for any trade.
