Former Dallas Mavericks center Zaza Pachulia recently signed a one-year, $2.9 million with the Golden State Warriors. However, a report from J. Michael of CSN shows that the Georgian player could have made almost $17 million more.

According to that report, the Washington Wizards offered Pachulia a two-year, $20 million deal. When he decided to take a different path by going to California, the Wizards signed an even bigger deal – four-year, $64 million – with Ian Mahinmi.

Playing in 76 games for the Mavs last season, Pachulia averaged 8.6 points and 9.4 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per game. If he can provide the same or better numbers as a backup this year for Golden State, expect him to get a bigger contract next season on par with other players around the league.

If he comes away with a championship under his belt, then giving up a few million will all be worth it.
