Free agent forward K.J. McDaniels has agreed to a one-year, partially guaranteed deal with the Toronto Raptors, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Toronto had $116.6 million in guaranteed salary with 13 players and 100,000 in partial guarantees to Alfonzo McKinnie before this signing, according to ESPN Insider Bobby Marks, after having signed Kyle Wiltjer to a partially-guaranteed deal on Tuesday.

McDaniels is a versatile jack of all trades that can contribute with his length and athleticism at both ends of the floor, as he displayed during his time with the Houston Rockets and his brief one-year stint with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Raptors now have McDaniels, McKinnie, Wiltjer, and North Carolina center Kennedy Meeks battling for the last two spots in the 15-man roster.

McDaniels averaged 6.3 points and 2.6 rebounds last season with the Nets, but has still left a good impression around the league after his rookie stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he saw consistent minutes prior to being traded to Clutch City.

He can prove a handy asset, able to guard multiple positions and get into passing lanes, making the transition from defense to offense a blur in the open court. McDaniels remains a project on the offensive end, still lacking the ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc — but has a very high upside as a defender, making him a good commodity at the end of a bench.
