Los Angeles Clippers small forward Paul George knew the Houston Rockets were going to be lethal with Russell Westbrook and James Harden leading the charge.

While some around the league questioned whether the Westbrook-Harden pairing would work, George — who played two seasons with Westbrook — knew it was going to be fine.

“I knew it was going to work,” George said, via ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly. “Russ is a winner. Russ wants to win, Russ does whatever it takes to win. My time playing with him, Russ doesn't really have an ego. He puts his ego to the side.”

The Rockets are 11-4 on the season and both Westbrook and Harden are putting up stellar numbers. Westbrook is averaging 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.9 assists, while Harden is putting up 38.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists.

George and the Clippers host the Rockets on Friday. It will be the fist time PG-13 and Russ face each other since the Oklahoma City Thunder traded both guys in the summer.

Westbrook, who has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row, has five double-doubles and three triple-doubles on the season thus far. He's shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 22.7 percent from beyond the arc and 71.1 percent from the free-throw line.
