The slumping Houston Rockets entered their Wednesday night matchup against the Chicago Bulls with 15-straight losses. With the game far from over, the Rockets already took an L as Jalen Green was forced to make an exit due to a lower leg injury, per Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet.

Green collided with Coby White as he drove to the hoop, sending himself to the floor writhing in pain. He managed to play on until the Rockets’ next defensive possession, before being yanked out of the game for good.

Jalen Green appeared to be on his way to a productive night prior to the injury. He already had 11 points across his name on 4-of-5 shooting from the field in 10 minutes of action. Sans their prized rookie, the Rockets will have to rely more on Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. the rest of the way.

John Wall isn’t coming out of the gates, wearing Rockets red, anytime soon—or at all. Houston simply couldn’t catch a break this season, and the odds have skyrocketed against their favor.

One of the contenders for this season’s Rookie of the Year award, Jalen Green holds averages of 14.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists throughout 17 games. His shooting numbers leave plenty to be desired, but his shot isn’t broken.

Green’s potential is so immense, it might be wise for the Rockets to take an extra-cautious approach with their prized rookie after tonight’s game.
