The Houston Rockets will be without superstar guard James Harden for the second consecutive game on Monday when they take on the Utah Jazz.

Harden is out due to a left thigh contusion, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN:

The Rockets lost to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday without Harden by a final score of 117-110. Houston is 28-17 on the season, sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Harden is averaging 36.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.3 assists on the season for the Rockets. The former MVP is shooting 43.9 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 86.1 percent from the free-throw line. Harden has 13 double-doubles and two triple-doubles on the season.

For the third consecutive season, Harden is leading the NBA in scoring. The Rockets star is trying to win his first championship this season and has fellow MVP Russell Westbrook by his side to help achieve that goal.

Westbrook and Eric Gordon will have to pick up the scoring slack for the Rockets while Harden is out.
