Video: Rockets star Russell Westbrook returns and immediately rocks the baby in Derrick White’s face

Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook returned to the court on Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs … and he hasn’t missed a beat.

The Rockets point guard called for the ball within seconds of the opening tip, drawing a matchup against Derrick White and nailing a quick fadeaway jumper off the glass, rocking the baby after a mere 18 seconds of regulation had elapsed.

Take a look:

But that wasn’t all, as the Rockets dynamo also found a cutting Ben McLemore for this nifty finish only a minute after getting the opening bucket:

Westbrook had four points, two rebounds, and four assists at the end of the first quarter. His other basket was a thing of beauty, bulldozing a good defender in Dejounte Murray for the easy two points:

Westbrook had all four of the Rockets’ assists in the first quarter, accounting for 15 of the team’s 25 points.

While he missed the previous two double-digit wins against the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings, Westbrook didn’t seem to skip a single beat, back to his high-octane ways after sitting out the last two games.

The Rockets wanted to get him some action before the postseason starts, especially against a hungry team like the Spurs, who are fighting for their playoff lives.

Westbrook might have a matchup advantage against most point guards in the league, but rest assured coach Gregg Popovich will have a plan in his back pocket to give him something to think about down the line.
