In the days leading into Week 14 action against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New Orleans Saints had some question marks surrounding the health of star wide receiver Michael Thomas due to an ankle injury.

The Saints had an encouraging update on the situation on Friday as Thomas was able to exit the injury report that has put him on track to play on Sunday afternoon, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

There hadn't been any real concern that his status for this week's game was jeopardy, but rather that the team was moving forward cautiously with the situation in order to avoid any possible setbacks. This had seen him miss practice on Wednesday then participate fully on Thursday that had erased any of those concerns. The fact that he was able to follow it up on Friday with another full practice demonstrates that it is a minor issue that shouldn't linger or limit him in any manner on the field.

Thomas has been the primary in the passing game as Drew Brees’ favorite target that has helped him put together a career-best season as he is currently third in the league with 91 receptions, fourth in 1,120 receiving yards, eighth with eight receiving touchdowns, and fourth with 93.3 receiving yards per contest. Thomas has posted three games with more than 100 receiving yards including a season-high 211 receiving yards on 12 receptions and a touchdown along with at least four receptions in each of the first 12 games played this year.

The Saints and Thomas are coming off a rough outing in the 13-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys that saw the entire offense struggle to get anything going putting up 176 total offensive yards in the contest. The 25-year-old had a quiet performance with five catches for 40 receiving yards, which he will more than motivated to help New Orleans bounce back this week.
