New Orleans Saints backup quarterback Taysom Hill is one of the most interesting signal-callers this game has ever seen.

Of course, playing behind Drew Brees, he isn't going to get much time to throw the football, but Hill is still getting plenty of playing time as both a rusher and a punt returner.

Yes; that's right. A quarterback returning punts.

Saints head coach Sean Payton raved about Hill to reporters on Thursday, and had the quite the interesting comparison for the rookie:

“He runs fast, but a little bit like Fred Flintstone,” said Payton, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “His arms don’t bend.”

Uh, okay then.

Payton not only feels that Hill runs like Fred Flinstone, but he also thinks that one day, Hill is actually going to develop into a fine quarterback and won't just be known as a special teamer:

“I’ve said this before; I believe this,” Payton said. “He’s going to be, I think, an outstanding NFL quarterback. Last week, he threw a ball to [Alvin] Kamara that was perfect.”

Payton also added that Hill has “outstanding” hands, so there really doesn't seem to be anything Hill can't do on the offensive side of the ball.

On the year, Hill rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He also returned 14 punts for 348 yards.

New Orleans is coming off of a 20-14 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round of the playoffs last weekend. It will take on the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
