Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson is being evaluated for a concussion after taking a big hit in the second quarter of the team’s Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. 

The incident happened with around six minutes left in the second quarter after Carson goes on a run. He takes a big hit from several Dolphins players, including linebacker Elandon Roberts, before falling to the ground. He remained on the field after the play.  

Before the injury, the 26-year old Carson led the Seahawks in rushing with six carries and 25 rushing yards and one touchdown, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. He scored the game’s first touchdown, finding the end zone after a one-yard run to give Seattle a 7-0 lead with 10:00 remaining in the first quarter.

Heading into the game, Carson was listed as questionable after suffering an MCL sprain in Seattle’s 38-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys last week, but still ended up starting for the Seahawks. 

In Seattle’s first three games, Carson, who was selected in the 7th round of the 2017 NFL Draft, had 37 carries for 157 rushing yards, while adding 12 receptions, 93 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns. against the Cowboys last week, he finished with 14 carries and 64 rushing yards on the ground and three receptions and 12 receiving yards for the Seahawks. 

The running back, who played for Oklahoma State and Butler Community College before going to the NFL, is coming off a strong third season with the Seahawks, where he finished with 278 carries, 1,230 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 37 receptions, 266 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns in 15 games.
