The Seattle Seahawks notably selected former Ole Miss wide receiver D.K. Metcalf in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, though the former collegiate standout was originally projected as a first round talent. With the Seahawks managing to steal the prolific pass catcher a little later than expected, Metcalf wasted absolutely no time introducing himself to the NFL and more specifically the Cincinnati Bengals.

Helping the Seahawks defeat the Bengals by the score of 21-20 at home, Metcalf actually broke a major record along the way. The rookie wide out finished the memorable Week 1 win over the lowly Bengals with four receptions for 89 yards while leading the Seahawks in receiving yards on the day.

Despite encountering some lingering injury trouble as of late, the first-year wide out still managed to make his way onto the field for the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon in Seattle. It is also safe to say that had Metcalf not suited up against the Bengals, the Seahawks probably don't start the 2019-20 regular season on a high note. While overcoming a recent knee injury, Metcalf has named himself “Wolverine.”

“He doesn't stay down for long,” Metcalf said, via Bleacher Report. “If he gets a cut or a bruise or something, then it goes away immediately. I've been dealing with injuries for the past couple of months, and they've kind of lingered around for a little bit and then go away.”

With one win under the team's belt, Metcalf and the Seahawks will now turn their attention toward a Week 2 matchup against the always dangerous Pittsburgh Steelers.
