The Seattle Seahawks were one of the first teams to make a boom during the 2022 offseason, trading away star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. One of the pieces acquired by the team in the trade was quarterback Drew Lock, who has been widely criticized by fans. Recently, a new teammate of his spoke out in his defense.

DK Metcalf, the Seahawks' star wide receiver, took to Twitter to respond to all the “Drew Lock slander,” as the QB hasn't been given a good chance to prove himself in the league yet.

Lock's career with the Broncos has been incredibly polarizing. He was well-loved by parts of the fanbase, while others hated him with a passion. Clearly, though, the management didn't think he was doing good, as they acquired Teddy Bridgewater last season to replace him in the starting lineup. Now, Lock has a chance to rehabilitate his image in Seattle.

It's not like the starting quarterback position will be handed to him easily though. Geno Smith had a ho-hum performance in Wilson's stead last year while the latter was injured. Smith will likely be competing with Lock for the Seahawks' starting job. It will be interesting to see how Pete Carroll manages his two QBs on the roster, but Lock seems to be excited to play in his new city.

As for Metcalf, his future with the Seahawks is still up in the air. The stellar wide receiver has been excellent in Seattle thus far. However, if the management decides to go on a rebuild, Metcalf could potentially be dealt for more prospects.
