Russell Wilson continues to stake his NFL MVP claim with two touchdown throws to rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf in the Seattle Seahawks' Week 8 matchup on the road against the Atlanta Falcons (via NFL).

Wilson first hit the 21-year-old Metcalf on a four-yard reception in the second quarter in the Peach State. After the Seahawks extended their lead against the lowly Falcons with a Chris Carson rushing touchdown, Metcalf scored again on another goal line pass, this time a two-yard reception in the end zone for the score.

At this point the Falcons (1-6) are playing for the spirit of the game during the 2019 NFL season. They are in the midst of selling pieces of their team, like Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots, and offer little to no resistance against opposing teams on game day. Atlanta has scored 11 unanswered points against Seattle, but time is not on their favor—especially with the Super Bowl champion quarterback Wilson in charge of the Seahawks' offense.
