In his rookie year last season in the NBA, Philadelphia 76ers big man Dario Saric made a good account of himself by displaying his impressive all-around game. Despite most of the attention being on Joel Embiid, the 23-year-old Croatian showed everyone that he is also a rising star in the league, and will be one of the cornerstones of their young team in the future.

A gifted offensive player, Saric also displayed his ability to block shots, and averaged close to almost one per game. During Croatia's matchup versus Romania in this year's EuroBasket, he showed off his improved timing, by swatting a dunk attempt at the rim, and saving his team from giving up two points.

The highlight reel-worthy block is considered one of the best defensive plays of the tournament so far, and has allowed his home country to remain unbeaten in its first two matches. They are currently tied with Spain with a 2-0 win-loss slate, and are geared to make it to the next round of the competition.

If Saric will be able to add improved shotblocking to his already impressive skill set, he could become an even more imposing player on the court, and the Sixers would definitely benefit even more. His team is expected to be at full strength once training camp starts, and it will be very interesting to see if they can make a return to the playoffs with their new lineup.
