Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons met with Sixers reporters on Wednesday to discuss his back injury.
The Sixers announced on Wednesday that Simmons is receiving daily treatment and gradually increasing the activities in his strength and conditioning program.
However, the lefty is still out for at least another three weeks:
Ben Simmons can’t say when he’ll be back. Said rehab is going well.

Simmons has yet to do anything on a court, yet. All rehab.

Simmons asked if injury happened in all-star game:”No.”

Asked Ben Simmons if surgery is an option if rehab does not fully correct nerve impingement:"I think that's something down the road if it gets to that, but right now I'm doing great".

Simmons has played in 54 games for the Sixers this season. He’s averaging 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists while shooting 58.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 62.7 percent from the free throw line.
The Sixers are 38-26 on the season. They are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. By all accounts, Simmons is expected to be back for the postseason. However, nothing has been set in stone yet.
There's a lot riding on the Sixers come playoff time. Philly has lost in the second round of the playoffs two years in a row. Of course, last season, the Sixers were heartbroken after Kawhi Leonard hit the shot of the decade in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
Sixers general manager Elton Brand doesn't want to keep harping on the past. Most league insiders expect Brand to fire head coach Brett Brown if the 76ers don't at least get to the Eastern Conference Finals this season.
For the Sixers to go on a deep postseason run, Simmons and Joel Embiid will have to figure out how to mesh with each other in the half-court setting when the game slows down in the fourth quarter.
