Sixers head coach Brett Brown will likely be coming back as the Australian National Team coach in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, according to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Brown coached the Boomers in the 2012 London Olympic games. His roster was talented, but he was without the services of star center Andrew Bogut, who was out of commission due to a broken ankle. Australia made it all the way to the quarterfinals, but they were defeated by Team USA — the eventual gold medalists. This led the Aussies to a seventh-place finish.
Brown, who also served as an assistant coach with the Australian national team between 1995 and 2003, noted that he was stepping down as the Boomers' coach after the London games. However, it sounds like he might be coming back for 2020:

The Sixers are playing well under Brown this season. They've recorded an 8-5 record thus far, which is good for fifth in the Eastern Conference standings. Their 114-95 win over the Cavs on Sunday afternoon snapped a two-game losing streak.
“How people respond to losing and how they play is an interesting snapshot,” Brown said, via ESPN. “For the most part, the guys didn't let up. Defensively, we came out with a sting. The partnership of all the pieces was effective.”
The Sixers will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the New York Knicks. Tip-off inside the Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
