Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid gave Sixers supporters quite a scare on Tuesday night following a brief exit during the team's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Embiid suffered a scary fall in the fourth quarter of the Sixers' 121-105 win against the Lakers, which forced him to head to the locker room. Fortunately, the 24-year-old was able to return soon after.

After the victory, Sixers head coach Brett Brown downplayed the injury, and expressed that there is nothing to worry about.

Joel Embiid was able to return with a little less than four minutes left to play in the final frame, and he was able to close out the game. The 7-foot big man finished with a team-high 28 points (on 7-of-16 shooting and 12-of-15 from the charity stripe), two three-pointers, 11 rebounds, six assists, a block, and six turnovers in 30 minutes of action.

The LeBron James-less Lakers were led by Brandon Ingram's 36-point effort, but ultimately, they proved no match to the surging Sixers on the evening.

The Sixers are currently in the midst of a four-game road trip, and are set to face the defending champs, the Golden State Warriors, on Thursday.

The good news for Embiid is that he will have one night off before his team will need to be at their best against Stephen Curry and co. There is no word on whether or not Embiid will be forced to sit out that highly-anticipated matchup against the Dubs, and right now, his status for that one is completely up in the air.
