Philadelphia 76ers wing Furkan Korkmaz has suffered a torn meniscus and will be sidelined indefinitely, the team announced Wednesday.

Korkmaz suffered the injury during the 76ers' loss to the Boston Celtics on Feb. 12.

The 21-year-old has played in 46 games this season, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds over 14.2 minutes per game while shooting 40.2 percent from the floor, 33.1 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Korkmaz was originally selected by Philadelphia in the first round (26th pick overall) of the 2016 NBA Draft.

He came over to the NBA last season, appearing in 14 contests and registering 1.6 points across 5.7 minutes a night while making a meager 28.6 percent of his field goal attempts and 29.4 percent of his long-distance tries.

That was not the only injury news to come out of the City of Brotherly Love on Wednesday.

It was also announced that All-Star big man Joel Embiid will be out for at least a week due to left knee soreness, an issue that has apparently been plaguing the center for a few weeks.

With Korkmaz and Embiid both in street clothes, what was already a thin rotation for the 76ers has become even thinner.

The Sixers are coming out of the All-Star break with a record of 37-21 and sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will play host to the Miami Heat on Thursday night.

Philly has made numerous moves this season, including trading for Jimmy Butler back in November and acquiring Tobias Harris from the Los Angeles Clippers prior to the trade deadline.
