Jimmy Butler sustained an ankle sprain in the Philadelphia 76ers' Friday night loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he will play on Sunday night when the Sixers take on the Brooklyn Nets, per Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philly.

This is excellent news for Philly as they look to avenge a blowout loss in Brooklyn earlier this month. Of course, that defeat came before Jimmy Butler was on the Sixers and the Nets still had their best player, Caris LeVert, who recently went down with a gruesome injury.

The Sixers suffered a tough loss to the Cavs on Friday, but they were riding a four-game winning streak prior to the loss. They're looking to knock off a Nets team that is still trying to establish an identity after losing LeVert. The Nets have lost six of their last eight and could really use a signature win to help build momentum.

Butler is a tough player and he's willing to play through pain to help Philly bounce back from a disappointing loss. That wasn't necessarily true in Minnesota where fans became accustomed to seeing Butler out of the lineup with “general soreness.” He was even held out on some nights for “precautionary rest.”

Obviously, things are much different at this point for the All-Star swingman. In Minnesota, any significant injury would have been disastrous for Butler and the Timberwolves. Now, he and the Sixers are looking to establish themselves as one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference.
