The Philadelphia 76ers are in danger of being seriously undermanned when they take on the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Sixers starters Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Danny Green, as well as reserves Shake Milton, Mattise Thybulle, Vincent Poirier, and Paul Reed could be sidelined due to health and safety protocols.

This comes after Seth Curry tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday right before their match against the Brooklyn Nets.

The entire Sixers team is currently quarantined in a facility in New York following Curry's diagnosis. While no Nets players tested positive so far despite playing against Curry and the Sixers, the same cannot be said about Philly's players and staff who interacted with Curry prior to his positive test.

In fact, Embiid sat next to Seth on the bench before he was yanked back to the locker room after his test.

The Cameroonian center has already said that he will self isolate away from his home in the meantime just to make sure he did not contract the virus. The effects of Curry's positive test is expected to make a ripple effect in the City of Brotherly Love, now that contact tracing is underway.

Head coach Doc Rivers might have to deal with an empty bench for upcoming games. This is a tough blow for the team, especially after their red-hot 7-2 start to the 2020-21 campaign.

They will face a strong Nuggets team led by Nikola Jokic. The Serbian will definitely have a field day especially if Joel Embiid will not be permitted to suit up.
