The Philadelphia 76ers will be without superstar Joel Embiid for the beginning of their series against the Miami Heat, at the very least. After already sustaining a thumb injury, the Sixers big man now suffered a head injury in Game 6 vs. the Raptors on Thursday night and there is no timetable for his return.

Via Shams:

This is a devastating blow for the Sixers. It's not exactly known how the injury happened, but there is a good chance it was on the play where Pascal Siakam elbowed him in the head. He ended up dealing with a bloody eye as a result.

The MVP finalist has been playing through clear pain in his thumb, but still managed to show out in the series-clincher, erupting for 33 points. There is nothing Embiid wanted more than to win a title this season with the Sixers, but with this latest setback, that goal becomes extremely difficult.

Although it is no timetable for return, an orbital fracture and mild concussion don't sound good. Philly will face Miami in Game 1 on Monday in South Beach and will now face an extremely tall task to make it out of the series.

Let's pray Joel Embiid can get healthy sooner rather than later and somehow come back and help the Sixers.
