Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is back at it again. Embiid, who used to woo LeBron James into teaming up with him and Ben Simmons in Sixers uniform, recently posted an Instagram image that shows him trying to seal at the post against the four-time MVP during this year’s All-Star Game.

It’s uncertain whether Embiid has some hidden message he wants to portray with this social media post, but it’s also fair to say that there is, given his colorful use of the medium in the past.

After LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers got swept by the Golden State Warriors in the 2018 NBA Finals, the Sixers center didn’t wait for the losers of that series marinate themselves in agony before hopping on Twitter to start recruiting James to come and start the next chapter of his career in Philadelphia.

When the Warriors successfully pilfered DeMarcus Cousins from the rest of the league, Embiid sounded off again by subtweeting James.

None of Embiid’s social media recruiting bore any fruit, though, as James agreed and then signed a four-year deal worth $153.5 million with the Lakers.

If there’s any consolation for Joel Embiid, it’s that, at least, Philadelphia will not have to worry itself crossing paths with a James-led team in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
