Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been dealing with gastroenteritis before Game 2 of their second round series against the Toronto Raptors. According to head coach Brett Brown, the Sixers big man even had to receive IV fluids before the contest to help address the issue.

Fortunately, the Cameroonian big man played through the ailment and managed to make an impact in their 94-89 victory.

Joel Embiid was obviously feeling the effects of the illness and produced numbers far from his usual standards, finishing with 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. However, he was pivotal on the defensive end and made life hard for Pascal Siakam and Marc Gasol.

The Sixers' All-Star center also scored a key basket in the last minute that helped Philadelphia secure the crucial victory.

Thankfully, this probably won't effect Embiid for the rest of the series. The star has dealt with injuries that have stuck with him for his entire career, but this won't be one of them. The next game takes place in three days, giving Embiid plenty of time to recuperate. Additionally, the series is moving to Philly.

Without a fully healthy Embiid, the Sixers will be at a huge disadvantage against a stacked Raptors squad. Hopefully, fans will get a chance to see him go back to his dominant ways in Game 3.
