Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was in tears after his the Sixers lost Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Toronto Raptors. However, instead of mocking or trash talking Embiid, veteran center Marc Gasol gave him some words of encouragement as they hugged each other out in the middle of the court.

After the game, Embiid told reporters that he has a lot of respect for Gasol, and that he appreciates the conversation they shared on the court.

Embiid was one of the main reasons why the Sixers failed to beat the Raptors, as he struggled mightily in four of the seven games in the series. The 26-year-old center had to play through knee issues, stomach flu and some sort of virus against Toronto, something that really hurt their chances of winning.

But for Gasol, Embiid's time to dominate the playoffs will come and these struggles and setbacks will be able to help him improve moving forward.

The Raptors' veteran has been in Embiid's situation in the past. When he was still the cornerstone of the Memphis Grizzlies, he failed to lead his team to a championship, constantly losing to teams like the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors.

Now, Gasol has an opportunity to win a championship with the Raptors, and as much as it pains him to see Embiid lose, this is his time and he plans to take advantage of it.
