Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is unsure if he'll suit up on Thursday when they duel the Boston Celtics due to a dislocated finger.

Embiid revealed that he wants to play but will listen to the advice of his doctors.

He suffered the injury in the first quarter of their eventual win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. While playing defense, Embiid suddenly screamed in pain and walked out of the play. The 76ers quickly called time to tend to Embiid.

Perhaps the crazy thing about it is that after getting his finger popped into place and taped up for good measure, Embiid actually returned to the game and played his normal allotment of minutes. He chipped in 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists across 32 minutes. He shot 7-of-17 from the field.

After the game, Embiid shared why he went back despite the gruesome injury. He shared that he didn't want to extend their losing streak to five games and wanted to help the team as much as he could.

“It was pretty bad,” Embiid said, per Jason Owens of Yahoo Sports. “I was basically playing with one hand. In the midst of the losing streak, I just wanted to make sure to do everything possible to try to get us a win.”

The good thing for the Cameroonian is that he has a few days more to rest and recover. Their game on Thursday against the Celtics is a critical one. After all, both teams are tagged as the best in the East. The 76ers need Embiid's services.
