Christmas Eve is a time for jubilation and glee. For one Philadelphia 76ers guard , though, the holiday season brought unfortunate news for them. Kyle Neubeck confirmed with team officials that Tyrese Maxey's home in Voorhees, New Jersey was caught in a major fire. Luckily, no one in the Maxey family was hurt.

As of the time of writing, the cause of the fire and no injuries are reported.

It's great that no one was hurt, but this house fire is an unfortunate end to what has been an incredibly successful year for Tyrese Maxey. The Sixers guard has proven his worth as a solid point guard for the team, helping them tread the waters without Ben Simmons. He's averaging around 16 points on solid efficiency, making him an integral part of the team at this point.

Maxey's efforts didn't go unnoticed by his Sixers peers. After a stellar performance in a loss to the Miami Heat, Tobias Harris spoke highly of Tyrese Maxey's pedigree and what he brings to the table (via ClutchPoints' Kevin McCormick)

“Tyrese [Maxey] was great tonight. Getting downhill, making shots, making plays, fueled off the energy in the arena. You love to see him get to the hole and create shots. Tonight you saw pretty much a full package of what he can do with his speed,”

This is an unfortunate development during the holiday season for Sixers fans. Hopefully, Tyrese Maxey's family will be able to salvage something out of their home. Best of luck to the Maxey family, and may they stay safe in this troubling times for them.
