Despite the Sacramento Kings’ reported pursuit of free-agent big man Al Horford, the Philadelphia 76ers have “real interest” in the five-time All-Star, per The Athletic’s Sam Amick.

The Sacramento Bee reported on Sunday that the Kings are prepared to make Horford a “massive” offer when free agency kicks off, though Amick noted the franchise currently doesn't expect to land him.

For Philadelphia, though, the 2019 offseason is a tricky summer where Sixers brass must navigate what to do with free-agents-to-be Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris. Butler, acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves, was a terrific down-the-stretch player and provided much-needed toughness in close games for the up-and-coming Sixers squad. Butler has received tremendous interest from the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, and they could pull off a sign-and-trade with Philly in order to acquire the four-time All-Star and former Most Improved Player winner.

Harris, meanwhile, is receiving interest to re-sign with the City of Brotherly Love or return to the Los Angeles Clippers, among many other suitors.

The Sixers will most likely have to deal with those two before figuring out how Horford, a strong defender and agile big man, fits into the equation. Horford, at 6-foot-10, could play the power forward position next to center Joel Embiid while Ben Simmons, who turns 23 in July, handles the ball as the floor general. Horford has been a good foil for Embiid in the past, so getting them on the same team would be a boon for Philly.
