Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons showed his teammates why they can never fall asleep in front of him. Simmons used an Instagram filter to clown his Sixers teammates following their game against the Dallas Mavericks in China. This is why you have to stay awake around your teammates, especially in the age of social media.

But Simmons will make it up to his teammates this season. The Sixers' dynamic point forward dished out 8.2 assists per game and quickly became one of the better point guards in the league. The 6-foot-10 facilitator played well enough to take home the Rookie of the Year award.

The Sixers and Simmons had a surprise regular season, securing the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. But they flamed out in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Boston Celtics. The Sixers hope they can improve on their second-round exit from last season. If they do, Simmons will play a big part in their success.

The Sixers improved their win total by 24 last season when compared with 2016-17. Additionally, they finished the season by rattling off 16 wins to finish the year.

Simmons is joined by Joel Embiid, who is quickly becoming one of the best centers in the league. Dario Saric is an underrated big man, J.J. Redick is the hardened veteran who can knock down shots, and Robert Covington is a great defender. The Sixers have the pieces to contend in the East.

It's up to Simmons to see if they will.
