It appears that it's not only Philadelphia 76ers fans who are excited about Jimmy Butler joining the Sixers.

Jimmy Butler recently arrived in Philadelphia following a trade that got him out of Minnesota in exchange for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick. He made his debut for the Sixers Wednesday night in their visit to the Orlando Magic.

As Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Daily News noted, however, Butler got plenty of love from the Orlando crowd. In fact, he even got a big ovation as he was introduced as a member of the team for the first time.

Butler is a four-time All-Star, so the recognition he gets isn't surprising at all. Nonetheless, it's still pretty amazing to see fans of other NBA teams cheer for an opposing player.

It remains to be seen how Philadelphia will welcome their newest player, but if Magic fans already gave him this much appreciation, the Sixers are expected to top that. Butler is anticipated to make his home debut on Friday when they play the Utah Jazz.

The 29-year-old forward averaged 21.3 points in 10 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. He asked the team for a trade last September, and after multiple failed negotiations, he was eventually sent to the East.

Only time will tell if Butler is the right fit for the Sixers, but there's no denying his reputation as an All-Star caliber player.
