Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant secured the NBA's Most Improved Player award on Monday, reeling in 38 first-place votes, with San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray finishing second. Morant, who found out about the honor while at his team's practice, was understandably ecstatic. Murray, on the other hand, was less excited. In fact, the Spurs star sent out a cryptic tweet immediately after the news that Morant was the Most Improved Player.

Hmmm. Murray posting a statistic that he achieved that's never been done in NBA history wouldn't have anything to do with Morant winning the Most Improved Player award now, would it?

Murray, who received exactly 20 first and second-place votes is clearly not pleased that he didn't get as much love as the Grizzlies star did. The Spurs guard was very deserving, as he averaged career-highs in points, rebounds, assists, and steals while making strides as a three-point shooter.

Yes, it's understandable that Murray isn't going to be too pleased that his historic season didn't get the recognition that he feels it deserved.

However, the voters likely factored in that Morant's Grizzlies were one of the best teams in the NBA while Murray's Spurs barely made the Play-In Tournament.

There's also the fact that Morant had himself a really good year. Whether Murray likes it or not, the Grizzlies star is the NBA's Most Improved Player.

There's a 100 percent chance that the Spurs star is not pleased about it, judging by this cryptic tweet.
