San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan was recently caught in a threatening incident after he came face-to-face with an intruder who broke into his house located in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. He managed to chase away the burglar out of his property who was initially targeting the home of another notable personality in Kylie Jenner.

The 31-year-old swingman grew up in Compton, California, which is regarded by many as one of the most dangerous cities in America due to the area's high crime rates. He recalled that he has seen far worse back then and managed to brush off the incident, via KSAT 12's RJ Marquez.

According to IBT Times, the thief was identified as Justin Bergquist who broke into DeMar DeRozan's home back on Nov. 19. Bergquist made his way upstairs to a room where DeRozan's kid was playing which was followed by a commotion that grabbed the NBA player's attention. Security then came and alerted the police who arrested Bergquist and was charged with one count of felony burglary.

On the floor, DeRozan recently exercised the player option on his contract with the Spurs where he would play out the final season of his lucrative five-year deal signed back in 2016 with the Toronto Raptors.

In the team's 2019-2020 season, the former USC standout averaged 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists through 68 games in his second campaign under Gregg Popovich. He led the team to the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 32-39 record to miss out on a trip to the 2020 NBA Playoffs.

Hopefully, DeMar DeRozan and his family would be able to recover from the incident moving forward.
