San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was hailed as the Coach You'd Most Like To Play For by the National Basketball Players Association during the Players' Voice Awards. These awards are a direct result of voting by the players of the league, as the motto reads: “the only awards voted on BY the players, FOR the players.”

Popovich is a tough coach, but one touted as one of the most cerebral during his last 20 years in the league. Whether it's his constant sarcasm or his father-like approach at teaching the game, the 68-year-old man at the helm is one of the most charismatic coaches despite his often dry sense of humor.

Players will now have a chance to play for Popovich after he was named the successor of Mike Krzyzewski as coach of Team USA.

If his popularity wasn't enough, he was also considered for a fan-led campaign for the presidency alongside Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, causing even other coaches like Luke Walton of the Los Angeles Lakers to wear the shirt just for giggles.

While his winning record and championships are impressive, the tight-knit relationships he has with his players is one most NBA players would like to have, making him a prime example of what this award is all about.
