Drake and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown may not have much in common, but there is at least one thing. They are both compassionate, charitable guys. After hearing about what life was like for a housekeeper working at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, they decided to something that would put a smile on her face.

According to Steelers Wire, they took her on a $10,000 shopping spree.

The dynamic duo took 62-year old Odelie Paret and two other local women on a shopping spree that included a stop at Saks Fifth Avenue.

A story in the Miami Herald is what grabbed the attention of Drake and Brown. The article, written by Chabeli Herrera and posted on May 17, 2017, talked about how Paret had to wake up before 4:30 AM to get ready for work.

It often takes two buses at least an hour to travel the 13.5 miles from her home to the hotel. But to keep from being late, she gives herself lots of time. So, when things run smoothly, she often ends up a couple of hours early to work.

Her $15/hour wages are higher than the norm thanks to a union contract. But she supports more than just herself on them. She supports her unemployed daughter, her middle school age grandson, and family back in Haiti as well.

Why doesn’t she move closer? The answer to that is simple—it’s too expensive for a housekeeper to live in the Miami Beach area.

It’s a hard way to live. But when it comes down to it, you have to do what you have to do.

So, Drake and Brown were not just helping out any old fan. They were helping one of the hardest working women in Miami.
