This past year has been a roller-coaster ride for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

He went from leading the Steelers to a 7-2-1 start to seeing his team finish 9-6-1 and miss the playoffs largely as a result of a chasm in the locker room centered around his tenuous relationship with now-former wide receiver Antonio Brown.

But now, with Brown in Oakland and the Steelers moving on, Roethlisberger is just ready to get back to normal:

“It's been a little crazy the last few years,” said Roethlisberger, via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “Maybe moreso than usual that we're used to dealing with, so to kind of get back to quote, unquote normalcy is kind of nice.”

And as far as having any concern about a potential lack of weapons at his disposal? Roethlisberger thinks everything will be just fine and, at the very least, knows that everyone will put in a big effort:

“I really am excited about what we have,” said Roethlisberger. “We put a lot of work in, and that's what it's gonna take. It's gonna take a team effort, and we're all gonna give everything we have and see where it goes. We can't predict the future, but we can predict we're gonna give everything we have.”

Roethlisberger is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 5,129 yards, 34 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while completing 67 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.5.

The 37-year-old is entering his 16th NFL season and has made six Pro Bowls.
